YAZ Lawsuit

Yaz Lawsuit

Yaz lawsuits fall under an umbrella called “defective drug lawsuits.” In a defective drug Yaz lawsuit, a drug does not do what has been promised, or has additional or more severe side effects than previously stated. Yaz meets the requirements for a defective drug lawsuit due to the allegedly understated severity of its side effects. Yaz lawsuits, or lawsuits involving its counterparts, Ocella and Yasmin, are directed at Bayer Pharmaceuticals and Teva Pharmaceuticals.

About Yaz

Yaz is a daily birth control pill that is approved for the prevention of pregnancy, the treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and for the treatment of minor to moderate acne. Yaz is not approved for the treatment of PMS or for treatment of severe acne in women over 14 years of age who also desire an oral contraceptive.

Yaz Side Effects

Deemed by the FDA to have been previously understated in its ad campaigns, Yaz side effects include an increased risk of lower-limb blood clots, pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lungs), heart attacks and strokes. A percentage of women who use combination oral contraceptives also develop gallbladder disease. Vascular risks associated with the use of Yaz are greater if you are over 35, smoke, have a history of blood clots, or have a history of high blood pressure. If you are taking Yaz and experience pain in a lower extremity coupled with heat and swelling, or difficulty breathing and chest pain, get emergency medical attention right away. If you have had to seek medical care as a result of Yaz, please contact our office at your earliest convenience to find out if you might be eligible for a Yaz lawsuit or Yaz settlement.
