Overview
Chaffin Luhana, LLP was founded by colleagues Eric Chaffin and Roopal Luhana and operates out of New York. We are a plaintiff-only firm that focuses on whistleblowing cases, securities, and large-scale tort lawsuits. Believing that we do the most good by doing the right thing, we strive to provide our clients and their families with the best possible counsel and legal advice for each client’s specific needs. Mr. Chaffin and Ms. Luhana enjoy a successful track record with the plaintiffs’ bar and have won settlements for clients in excess of $900 million. Our Founders
Eric Chaffin
Eric Chaffin previously served as a prosecuting attorney with the Business and Securities Fraud Department of the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn. During his time as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Chaffin tried multiple cases and presented many arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals Second Circuit. Notable cases tried by Mr. Chaffin include heavily-broadcasted corporate fraud prosecutions regarding securities and accounting, and criminal cases such as a securities fraud manipulation trial encompassing investor losses in excess of $20 million. Upon leaving his position at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Chaffin became a partner at Seeger Weiss, LLP. Here, his practice focused on large-scale torts, consumer protection trials, single shareholder, and fraudulent securities class action suits. In succession, Mr. Chaffin became affiliated with a law practice listed in the National Law Journal. At this location, he was in charge of the firm’s mass torts department, focusing on securities litigation.
At this time, Mr. Chaffin only represents consumer clients, informants, and stockholders at hearings in state and national courts, as well as appeals courts across the U.S.
Roopal Luhaha
Roopal Luhaha has committed a great deal of her time to women’s causes and representing injured women; this dedication has garnered her recognition by the national court system. In recent times, Illinois Southern District Court’s Judge Herndon selected Ms. Luhana to the Plaintiff Steering Committee. Her committee position was in regards to the Yasmin and Yaz promotion, sales tactics and device accountability proceedings. Additionally, Ms. Luhana works diligently alongside her legal team and female plaintiffs on litigation pertaining to injuries sustained during the placement of surgical mesh via transvaginal means. Specific brands of vaginal mesh that were incorporated into the suit included Bard Avaulta, Gynecare Prolift, and the Mentor Sling.
Ms. Luhana has also worked on boards in other wide-scale class-action suits concerning non-prescription items, substandard medications, and medical apparatuses. She has served on the Discovery Committee in the Guidant multi-district litigation, and currently serves as Chair of the Law and Briefing Committee in the national denture cream multi-district litigation; additionally, she is immersed in the denture cream lawsuits in state and federal courts. Ms. Luhana focuses her current efforts on counseling plaintiffs in consumer fraud actions and mass tort litigation.

Reema R. Desai
Reema R. Desai is a counsel employee of our firm. She is a founding and current partner of Shah Desai, PC, where her focus is general civil litigation. Ms. Desai has enjoyed success representing for-profit businesses, proprietors of real estate, and individual persons in state and municipal proceedings. Previously, she was selected by a court of law to work as an arbitrator in the New Jersey county of Middlesex. Her work at Chaffin Luhana centers on injured plaintiff representation in mass tort cases, such as litigation in cases regarding drospirenone-containing birth control pills.

Morissa Falk
Associate Morissa Falk practices on behalf of injured clients in class action suits and cases involving deceptive corporate actions. Morissa Falk’s representation of Chaffin Luhana clients includes cases regarding product responsibility in the nationwide denture cream legal proceedings, the adhesive denture cream trials, and female clients injured by Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella contraceptive pills and the Ortho Evra contraceptive patch.
Evan Rosenberg
Evan Rosenberg is an Associate at Chaffin Luhana, LLP. Mr. Rosenberg is a law graduate of Seton Hall University, where he was a contending member of the Mock Trial and Dispute Solution Teams, a nationally recognized competition.
